This is a photographic docummentation project on Hong Kong’s exacerbating emigration phenomenon. The work studied local Hongkongers aged 20-30 who had immigrated to the U.K. and were in the midst of fulfilling a minimum of 7-year stay to obtain the legal right of abode in the UK. Whilst they might be too young before the 1997 handover to experience the sovereignty of the British, nevertheless, they had still decided to pursue the values of their former colonial empire that they had hardly experienced. The documentary lens captured their new British homes of mixed temporalities and fused cultures.
